Ingredients
2 cups self rising flour
3/4 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
melted butter
Self rising flour: 2 cups flour + 3 tsp baking powder + 1/2 tsp salt
Buttermilk: add 1 tbsp lemon juice to a 1 cup container, fill with milk, stir, and let sit for 5 minutes.
Method
Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
In a large bowl combine butter and flour with your hands until it resembles course crumbs.
Add buttermilk and combine until just moistened, don’t over mix.
Transfer to a lightly flouaurface and knead 3-4 times.
Lightly press into a 3/4 inch think slab and cut circles with a 2 1/2 inch cutter or a glass.
Place biscuits on a greased cookie sheet and bake until golden brown, 11-13 minutes.
Brush tops with melted butter and serve warm.
