Cinnamon rolls are a classic baked treat that is sure to please everyone. Ingredients
4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 large eggs
1 cup warm milk
1/2 cup melted butter
2 1/2 tsp instant yeast
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup softened butter
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 tbsp cinnamon
1/2 cup heavy cream
Method
Pour the warm milk into a large bowl and sprinkle the yeast over top.
Add the eggs, 1/2 cup melted butter, salt, and sugar and whisk until well combined.
Add the flour and start to incorporate it into the milk mixture. When it starts to come together, empty bowl onto a lightly floured surface and knead the dough until smooth, about 5 minutes.
Coat a large bowl with cooking spray, transfer the dough to the bowl, cover with a towel, and set in a warm place until dough doubles in size.
When the dough is almost double, combine the 1/2 cup softened butter with the brown sugar and cinnamon in a medium-sized bowl.
When the dough is doubled, transfer to a lightly floured surface and using a rolling pin, roll the dough out into a 24×15 rectangle.
Spread the cinnamon mixture over the dough.
Starting with the wide end closest to you. roll up the dough like a big jelly roll.
Grease a 9×13 lasagna pan with cooking spray.
Cut the dough into 12 equal pieces and place them into the pan and cover with cellophane.
Set in the refrigerator to rise overnight.
In the morning remove dough and let sit for 2 hours to come to room temperature.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Warm the heavy cream and then pour it over top of the cinnamon rolls.
Bake until lightly browned and center is cooked through approximately 18-22 minutes.
Remove from oven and top with homemade or store-bought icing of your choice while in the pan, or individually.
