Ingredients
2 cups flour
1 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp baking powder
1 cup milk or buttermilk
1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp fine sea salt
1 tsp old bay seasoning (optional)
3 tbsp butter
1 tbsp dried parsley
1/2 tsp garlic powder
Method
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl combine the flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, and garlic powder. Add old bay seasoning if using.
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the 1/2 cup of butter and then whisk in the milk.
Pour the butter mixture into the flour mixture and gently combine. Mix until moist, being careful not to overwork the dough.
Add cheese and mix until just combined.
Drop by spoonfuls onto the baking sheet, making 10 even sized biscuits.
Bake for 10 minutes.
While baking, in a microwave-safe bowl, melt the 3 tbsp of butter and then add the garlic powder and parsley.
Remove biscuits from the oven, brush tops with the butter mixture, and bake for an additional 5 minutes.
