Chocolate salame is a decadent Italian dessert that is perfect for any occasion. It’s a combination of dark chocolate and ladyfingers mixed together and then shaped into a log or salame. The crushed ladyfingers give it a crunchy texture, while the dark chocolate provides a smooth and creamy flavor.
Enjoy the delicious flavor of chocolate salame and impress your family and friends with this unique and decadent dessert!
Note: Most recipes for this call for a large egg to be mixed in. I substitute water, olive oil, and baking powder since using a raw egg could be unsafe for some people. You may use the egg if you wish.
Ingredients
12 oz bittersweet chocolate
6 tbsp unsalted butter
2 tbsp honey
10 oz ladyfingers, crushed
3 tbsp water
3 tbsp olive oil
2 tsp baking powder
Method
Melt the chocolate in a double boiler or in your microwave.
Melt the butter and add to the melted chocolate and stir until combined.
Add the honey, water, olive oil, and baking powder and stir until combined.
Fold in the ladyfingers.
Spread a foot-long sheet of wax paper on your counter and pour the chocolate mixture on to it forming a log type shape. Roll the wax paper around the mixture to finish forming it. Twist the ends of the paper so it looks like a large candy wrapper and place in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
Unwrap salami and use a serrated knife to cut into slices.
