2 bell peppers, diced
4 cups beef broth
2 29oz jars tomato sauce
1 cup instant rice, uncooked
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp basil
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
Method
In a large skillet over medium high heat, cook the ground beef until no longer pink.
Add beef to slow cooker, leaving fat in the skillet.
Add onion and garlic and cook for 3 minutes.
Add onions, garlic, and rest of the ingredients to the slow cooker.
Cook on low for 5-6 hours.
Notes:
*You can cook rice and form into large balls to set on top of the soup instead of adding to soup to cook. Japanese rice , which is sticky, works best.
*You can top soup with cheddar cheese when serving.
